
Considered nectar of the gods and offered to them by the Greeks, apricots travelled a long road from Asia through Armenia and out into Europe. In Romania, and especially in the Buzău orchards, they hold an honoured place. A source of vitamins, fibre and antioxidants, they have a flavour all of their own — to which we've added a touch of complexity through aromatic herbs and spices. Ingredients: apricots, sugar, rosemary, lemon, cloves, mint. Serving suggestion: the sweet-savoury profile is delightful — try a bruschetta of goat-cheese cream, a teaspoon of this jam, and a paper-thin slice of house prosciutto.
